GeoFIRM is completely geodatabase-centric. Built around ArcGIS/SDE, the geodatabase is the central repository for engineering and mapping spatial and non-spatial data. This unique system allows project members to focus on adding value to the data and then delivering products, such as printed panels and DFIRM databases, out from the geodatabase.

Leading Technology
Our project temas use the newest version of the world-leading GIS software, ArcGIS, throughout the project life-cycle. From incorporating LiDAR data to engineering design, to DFIRM mapping – GeoFIRM provides innovative tools for completing the project.
Project Data Available Real-Time
An enterprise-class geodatabase is at the core of GeoFIRM. Project members now have immediate, on-screen access to all project data at all times (digital imagery, scanned firms, framework data, LiDAR, engineering data, etc.).
Open-Architecture Design
GeoFIRM is standards-based and designed in open architecture to easily incorporate public domain data and toolsets. The underlying GeoFIRM data model easily supports industry-standard models, such as ArcHydro and the Enhanced DFIRM Database. GeoFIRM supports Interface Data Models (IDM), such as the HEC-HMS and HEC-RAS IDMs.
Multi-User Editing
The robust ArcSDE provides a gateway to spatial data stored in MS SQL Server. This allows multiple project members to create and edit data at the same time. This enterprise system provides for data integrity by controlling database versioning.
Automation
Automation tools are built in ArcObjects and delivered through GeoFIRM. This expandable toolset helps automate many of the critical tasks in performing engineering and mapping tasks. GeoFIRM provides tools for terrain, hydrology and hydraulics (riverine and coastal), mapping, and DFIRM production.
Access Anytime, Anywhere
GeoFIRM is designed to support project groups that are dispersed geographically. Project members can access GeoFIRM via the Internet.
