DATA ACCESS
GeoFIRM is designed to support project groups that are dispersed geographically. Project members can access GeoFIRM via the Internet.
GeoFIRM uses the robust Microsoft Windows Terminal Server (WTS) to support collaboration. This allows project members to access and remotely control a GeoFIRM session via the Internet. During the connection, the member’s PC receives screen updates of what is happening on the remotely controlled session.

This capability enables the team to collaborate on all aspects of data deliverables – data compilation, engineering, GIS element creation, quality control review, and final product creation. The latest data is always available to the team. The project’s progress can be continuously monitored because the geodatabase houses all project data.
Dewberry provides support for GeoFIRM tools without having to load any software. Newly developed tools are delivered quickly to the team through the WTS session.
GeoFIRM’s support for remote access results in:
-
Tighter project collaboration
-
Increased project data access
-
DFIRM production being performed at any location
-
Efficient production with automated tools
-
Remote training and outreach
GeoFIRM is designed to be an open-architecture system that can integrate any available data. GeoFIRM easily incorporates existing spatial and non-spatial datasets in all types of formats – even CADD files and hardcopy data.
