Dewberry Offers Processing Engineering Technology Capabilities

Dan Wilkinson and Katie Jones join the company's Raleigh office
Dan Wilkinson, PE, and Katie Jones, PE, have joined Dewberry’s Raleigh, North Carolina, office, bringing public and private-sector water and wastewater process engineering technology expertise to the company. With 20 years’ experience, Wilkinson will lead the practice as vice president and manager of process engineering and technology with Jones providing process engineering and project management services.
Wilkinson and Jones have performed and managed concept-level water and wastewater programs for pharmaceutical, food and beverage, chemical and related industrial clients. Their project work has included comprehensive wastewater master planning and full-scale treatment plant optimization as well as operational assistance. They have also conducted bench-scale and pilot-scale treatability studies as well as concept design and start-up of new wastewater treatment plants and plant upgrades. Wilkinson and Jones have assisted clients with water quality permitting, compliance, and regulatory negotiations. They join Dewberry’s water and wastewater practice, which provides a full range of planning, design and construction management services for federal, municipal, and industrial clients.
Wilkinson has a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson, and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. He is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina and South Carolina and is a member of the Water Environment Federation and the North Carolina Water Environment Association.
Jones has a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and is currently earning a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology. She is a registered professional engineer in North Carolina as well as a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Society of Women Engineers.
Wilkinson and Jones deliver technical seminars to client and association audiences on a regular basis, and have made presentations on nutrient removal, wastewater recovery and reuse, emerging contaminants, and wastewater treatment plant optimization in the past two years.
