Our examples of completed LEED® certified facilities follow.

Jersey Shore Med Center

Jersey Shore University Medical Center—certified LEED Gold
Neptune, New Jersey

Contributing factors for LEED certification include using already developed land with existing infrastructure, the reuse/capping of a former landfill, a parking garage that helps reduce urban heat island effects, stormwater management designs that improve water quality discharging from the site, and strategies to minimize pollution from construction activity.

ByronDaytime

Byron Public Library—certified LEED Gold
Byron, Illinois

This state-of-the-art facility uses a geothermal heating and cooling system with 36 wells, each 450 feet deep located within the site’s green space. This system supplies the building with all heating and cooling needs. Construction began in 2008 and the library was ready for occupancy in August 2009.

Timberglen Library

Timberglen Branch Library—certified LEED Gold
Dallas, Texas

Design of the 18,000-square-foot branch library includes two 50,000-gallon concrete cisterns which harvest rainwater to irrigate the landscape; light colored paving in the parking area, plaza, and walks to reduce heat islands; an "Energy Star" compliant metal roofing system to further reduce the heat island effect; site lighting to reduce light pollution; and preferred parking spaces for ultra low emitting vehicles.

QueenCreek

Queen Creek Library—certified LEED Gold
Queen Creek, Arizona

PSA-Dewberry provided programming, space planning, interiors, furniture/fixtures, schematic design development,  construction documentation, construction administration, and specifications for this LEED Gold library. Dick and Fritsche was the architect of record.

Oakton_lowres

Oakton Library—certified LEED Silver
Fairfax, Virginia

Programmed, planned and designed this 17,000-square-foot library that is sited on an environmentally responsible location, uses multiple lighting and plumbing strategies to maximize energy and water efficiency, and provides multiple solutions to allow for a healthy indoor environment. The facility is estimated to reduce total energy use by approximately 33% and conserve 40% of water, as compared to a conventional structure.

Pingree Grove

Pingree Grove Police Facility—certified LEED Silver
Pingree Grove, Illinois

Design services of a 10,000-square-foot, single-story structure; design includes landscaping which requires no permanent irrigation systems, a two-year renewable solar and wind energy contract, electrical plugs to recharge hybrid police vehicles, low-flow and fual-flush plumbing fixtures, and low-emitting VOC materials.
